Or is it my Spectrum Gateway that needs some configuration? From my research, I've read using OpenDNS, disabling Gateway wireless, using Orbi as router, and other terminoligies I'm not familiar with.
Called Spectrum again and asked about the situation. They said they block all other compatible modems that are not on the approved list (Link above). I keep reading online that it is a working router with Spectrum. Does anyone have any news on the change of approve list? - Thanks Edit: Typos Edit2: Mode number
RBR20/RBS20--Connecting with Spectrum WiFi6 Router I recently upgraded to a Spectrum WiFi6 router but am still have connection issues (non-existent or buffering) with a TV on the other side of my house (one story--2000 sq. ft.) as well as a TV that's about 18' away. I'm told the issue with the closer TV may be due to obstructions in nearby walls.
From spectrum I got a modem and a router (two separate pieces of equipment). I plan to hook up the spectrum modem and router on the 1st floor family room (one corner of the house) and then send an ethernet from the router into the wall. All the ethernet ports converge in the laundry room (lul) where I've connected a tplink gigabit switch.
I was inspecting my WiFi 6 Router and noticed that there isn't a WPS button like previous routers from Spectrum. Has anyone encountered NETGEAR extender product incompatibility issues with Spectrum's latest routers in the last year? If so, where you able to install and use your extender with no issue?
Here's your options to use it that route. 1. place the spectrum device in passthrough modem only mode. Its disables the wireless and routing functions and only works as a modem or 2. Place the orbi in AP mode (access point). This disables its routing functions but still leaves its wireless and ethernet working.
I connected the Spectrum Wifi Router (with built in ethernet switch) to the Spectrum DOCSIS MODEM and then connected the Orbi RBR50 to one of the 1G ethernet ports on the back of the Spectrum Wifi Router. It works fine that way. I would think that a 2.5G ethernet switch should be backward compatible to 1G ethernet.
Thanks - apparently I mis-read several posts on this and other forums. The compatibility issues are with Orbi modem/router combo systems. But if I use the modem provided by Spectrum, it should work with my Orbi router.
> setting up router using spectrum 2g and 5g What, exactly, does "spectrum 2g and 5g" mean to you? Spectrum is a cable-TV-type ISP. Their influence over the wireless part of your networking is approximately nil. Do you have some kind of cable modem? > Model: R7000|AC1900 Smart WIFI Router Is that your "a nughthqwk router"?
