A winter storm is expected to drop around a foot of snow across Ohio this weekend, with temperatures so cold that it won’t be able to melt.

A major winter storm, one of the most extreme and expansive in years, is starting to develop over the Plains and will impact much of the United States.

Forecasters say it could be one of the most significant winter events this season.
