£80m ‘cultural destination’ uni library put on hold

Freemasons' Hall, Bristol, is a building on Park Street in the city of Bristol, England. It is a Grade II* listed building initially built in 1821. It is now the home of Freemasonry in Bristol and is the seat of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Bristol as well as a number of other organisations and side orders. It is the home of 38 Craft Lodges, 14 Royal Arch Chapters, seven Mark Lodges, and three Royal Ark Lodges as well as other side orders and is one of the few masonic provinces which enjoy all

A rare opportunity to view a selection of medieval manuscripts from our collections. Highlights from this unique display include a richly decorated Book of Hours, a Missal made for St Augustine’s Abbey and an illustrated fifteenth-century guide to surgery. These beautiful and fascinating books offer a window into the faith, art, and learning of the Middle Ages. On display for a limited time - not to be missed.
